Mobile Market Program
Healthy Eating and Active Living is a top priority for the Healthcare Foundation of Wilson, and we are so excited to share our upcoming partnership that will be focused on providing healthy and nutritious options for our community! Beginning April 14th, we are teaming up with Ripe for Revival, a nonprofit dedicated to ending food insecurity in North Carolina, to bring Wilson its very own mobile food market.
Ripe for Revival’s Mobile Market initiative is a low-cost option to purchase fresh, local produce, dairy, and protein. The mobile grocery store operates under a pay-what-you-can/pay-it-forward model, as no one should be denied healthy food options due to cost.
The Mobile Market will be set up twice a month, on Tuesdays, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., making shopping more accessible for our community. Ripe for Revival works with local farms (typically within two hours of Wilson) to help redistribute excess food that otherwise may go to waste.
