Mobile Market Back-to-School Event Equips 50 Wilson County Students for the New School Year
WILSON, N.C. — The Healthcare Foundation of Wilson (HFW) hosted a back-to-school event at the Ripe for Revival Mobile Market on August 11, providing 50 students with essential school supplies, including pens, pencils, notebooks, crayons, and markers, ahead of the new academic year.
The event also connected families with a range of additional services offered by community partners, including WASH Dental, Ignite Church, Dress for Success, ECU Health, and AmeriHealth. Events like this are made possible only through partners who show up for Wilson County families, and the Foundation remains grateful for their continued support.
The Ripe for Revival Mobile Market will continue offering programming throughout the fall, including:
- September 8 – Suicide Prevention Awareness with the Substance Prevention Coalition
- September 22 – A1C screenings, blood pressure checks, and a food demonstration
The Foundation remains dedicated to expanding access to health and wellness resources for residents across Wilson County, regardless of location or circumstance.
About the Healthcare Foundation of Wilson
The Healthcare Foundation of Wilson is a public foundation that was established in February 2014 when Wilson Medical Center was purchased by Duke LifePoint Healthcare. The assets received from the sale, as well as prior hospital reserves, provide the funding for the grants awarded and many of the physical improvements to the hospital. The Foundation’s mission is to invest in collaborative efforts that influence and measurably improve the health and wellness of the greater Wilson community. Since the first grants were issued in 2016, over $70 million dollars have been expended. The Foundation remains committed to creating a healthier Wilson community and looks forward to more collaborative partnerships in the future.
